San Francisco Political Consultant With Ties To Mayor Lee Arrested On Child Pornography Charges

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)-- A prominent San Francisco political consultant was arrested Thursday on child pornography charges.

San Francisco Police tell KCBS they arrested 41-year-old Enrique Pearce after serving a search warrant at his apartment in the Civic Center area.

Officers say they found more than 600 images of people under 18 engaged in sexual conduct. Pearce is being held at the County Jail on five charges, including possessing and distributing child pornography, receiving or buying stolen property, and possessing obscene images of minors involved in sadism or masochism.

Pearce runs Left Coast Communications, and led the "Run Ed Run" campaign that led to the election of then-interim Mayor Ed Lee in 2011. He also helped run Supervisor Jane Kim's 2010 campaign, ran Matt Gonzalez's losing campaign for Mayor of San Francisco, and has worked for Oakland Congresswoman Barbara Lee.
