Police Chase Ends In Multi-Car Crash In San Francisco's SoMa Neighborhood; 1 Hurt, 1 Arrested

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A suspect was taken into custody after a police chase ended in a multi-car pileup in San Francisco's South of Market area, causing a traffic mess and spectacle for bystanders Monday evening.

The chase began at Third Street and Cesar Chavez, with the suspect vehicle reaching speeds between 20-45 miles per hour.

Multiple collisions occurred along city streets before the chase ended in the crash at 5th and Market Streets, where one woman was injured.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital.

The accident scene was cleared at 7:30 p.m.
