Pittsburg Woman Accused Of Multi-City Crime Spree

WALNUT CREEK (CBS SF) -- A Pittsburg woman was arrested last month in connection with crimes in Walnut Creek, San Ramon and other cities in the Bay Area, Walnut Creek police said Wednesday.

Rebekka White, 34, was arrested Sept. 29 on suspicion of commercial burglary, grand theft auto, identity theft and possession of stolen property, according to police.

Police said White was captured on surveillance cameras stealing a wallet from the women's locker room of a gym in Walnut Creek on Sept. 1.

She then allegedly used one of the victim's credit cards at several businesses, police said.

White is also a suspect in the Sept. 29 theft of a vehicle from a gym in San Ramon. Police said she stole the car keys from inside the women's locker room of the gym and then stole the victim's car, which contained the victim's purse and credit cards.

After stealing the car, White allegedly used the victim's credit cards to go on a shopping spree and buy a $4,800 watch, police said.

Police said they later located her in the stolen vehicle in downtown Walnut Creek.

During a probation search at White's home, officers found evidence of other items stolen during a commercial burglary in South San Francisco and other likely stolen items and incidences of identity theft, police said.

White remains in custody with bail set at $575,000, police said.
