Oakland Power Outage Affecting 4,000 Customers

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Nearly 4,000 PG&E customers are without power in Oakland Wednesday afternoon, according to PG&E spokeswoman Tamar Sarkissian.

The outage started at 10:45 a.m., and Sarkissian says it is not clear at this time whether the cause is related to the weather.

The most impacted neighborhoods include Temescal, Rockridge and Adam's Point.

In particular, Sarkissian says the outage is affecting the areas along 51st Street between Claremont Avenue and Broadway, near 41st Street and Monroe Avenue, the area west of Interstate Highway 580, and north of Van Buren Avenue.

There is no estimated time of restoration. However, Sarkissian says crews are working to restore service as soon as possible.
