Report: 5 Inmates Escape From Madera County Jail

FRESNO (CBS SF) -- A Central Valley television station is reporting that five inmates have escaped from the Madera County Department of Corrections.

Earlier, the Madera County Sheriff's Office asked the public for information on the whereabouts of one inmate who escaped sometime around 10 p.m. Friday.

Juan Lopez, age 33, was being held for armed robbery and attempted murder.

The jail informed the Sheriff's Office that the Lopez was last seen wearing either an orange jumpsuit or white shirt with blue shorts. Lopez stands 5'6", weighing approximately 170 pounds and his head is shaved.

KMPH-TV has identified the four other inmates as: Abel Ramos, 25; Ricardo Cendejas, 19; Roel Soliz, 29; and Jorge Lopez-Diaz, 26.
