I-880 Ramps Open In San Jose, Bringing Traffic Relief To Santa Clara Valley Drivers

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- There's traffic relief for many drivers in Santa Clara Valley now that two of three new ramps are opening at the Interstate 880 Stevens Creek Blvd. Interchange in San Jose.

The newly reconfigured intersection includes the off-ramp from Southbound I-880 and the new on-ramp to Southbound Highway 17. The new off-ramp to Stevens Creek from Northbound 280 and state route 17 is expected to open Friday morning.

The $62 million project took two years to complete and features wider, newly reconfigured ramps to add more capacity for drivers to cue on and off the freeway.

Holiday shopping season is already almost here and the interchange is crucial for Santana Row and Valley Fair Mall shoppers.
