This year's festivities featured, among others, an appearance with San Francisco Giants' mascot Lou Seal and a special live performance of "Circle of Life" from Disney's "The Lion King - Musical"

Along with the ceremonies at Powell and Geary streets, visitors were treated with a performance by the Yerba Buena Professional Skating Ensemble.

The Safeway Holiday Ice Rink will be open until 11:30 pm every night until January 16th, according to organizers. The rink opens every day at 10:00 am.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for children 8 years old and younger. Figure skate and hockey skate rentals are $6 per pair. A portion of the ticket proceeds benefit the San Francisco Recreation & Park Department.
