Culture Club Cancels Upcoming Bay Area Concert Dates & Tour

OAKLAND (CBS SF) - Iconic 80's band, Culture Club has announced they are canceling their North American and U.K. concert tour due to an ailing Boy George.

George's doctor found a polyp inside the singer's throat and ordered him not sing. An operation may be required.

The band's November & December dates which included a sold out show at The Masonic San Francisco on November 16th and Oakland's Fox Theater are cancelled until further notice.

"We are hoping we can reschedule the concerts for next year, and hopefully George's problem will be resolved," - Culture Club

Culture Club's U.S. tour would have marked the first time since 1986 that all four of the original members, front man Boy George, Mikey Craig, Roy Hay and Jon Moss toured and performed together.

Ticketholders can receive refunds at the point of purchase.
