Comcast Outage Caused Some Giants Fans To Miss Game 1 Of NLCS

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) — Some fans of the San Francisco Giants hoping to watch the team face the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 1 of the NLCS On Saturday may have been out of luck if they are a Comcast subscriber.

An independent construction crew working in the Glen Park neighborhood of San Francisco severed a Comcast line, cutting off signal to 1,800 customers.

Comcast responded to the accident shortly after 2 p.m. and was able to restore service to customers by midnight.

It's unclear what caused the construction crew mistakenly cut the line. The workers were not related to Comcast in any way.

EDITORS' NOTE: An earlier version of this story incorrectly referred to an issue with a fiber optic line in Solano County. That information was incorrect and outdated, and the only customers affected were those in Glen Park.
