Suspect Killed In Antioch Jewelry Store Robbery Gone Wrong

ANTIOCH (KCBS) -- A robbery suspect was killed and a customer shot at an Antioch jewelry store Friday afternoon, according to police.

Police were called to Hardy Nix Jewelers at 3600 Delta Fair Blvd. just before 4:30 p.m. on a report of an armed robbery with shots fired, according to acting Capt. Robin Kelley.

Officers learned a customer inside the jewelry store had been shot, and a suspect involved in the robbery had been shot by the owner, Kelley said.

A second suspect fled on foot, and could not be located in a search of the area, Kelley said.

The wounded customer was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.
