2-Alarm Fire Guts Fairfield Home

FAIRFIELD (CBS SF) -- A two-alarm fire gutted a Fairfield house Saturday night, according to the Fairfield Fire Department.

Firefighters responded at around 9:30 p.m. to a residence on Paradise Court to find the garage in flames.

Fire officials said the fire spread to the attic, causing the roof to collapse.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the house, but the home sustained major heat, smoke and water damage and is considered a total loss, according to officials.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries while battling the blaze.

They were treated on-scene and released.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
