EMERYVILLE (CBS13) - Quick action from firefighters in Alameda County stopped an apparent suicide attempt by a woman in Emeryville on Tuesday morning.
Firefighters were driving back after a call when they noticed that a woman was crawling on the overpass on Powell Street. They pulled to the side of the road to investigate.
The firefighters soon noticed she was visibly upset and crying, saying she was in pain.
Traffic was quickly diverted and firefighters started talking to the woman.
The tense moments were captured on video by the Alameda County Fire Department.
Once the woman turned her back for a moment, firefighters moved in and grabbed her from the edge.
Firefighters stayed at the scene with her until more help arrived.
