Boy dies after shooting in Sacramento's Meadowview neighborhood
SACRAMENTO — A boy was hospitalized and later died after a shooting in south Sacramento's Meadowview neighborhood, police said Tuesday night.
Sacramento police said it happened just before 10:30 p.m. along Coral Gables Court.
The victim suffered a single gunshot wound. Wednesday morning, police stated that the boy had died from his injuries.
Sacramento's coroner's office has identified the victim as Julius Shawn Marcel Chaney, 15.
No suspect information was available.
The circumstances of the shooting are under investigation.
