FORECAST: Rain, Snow In The Sierra, Slight Chance Of Showers In Valley

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Northern California is on the back edge of an area of low pressure that's circulating showers, both rain and snow, through the foothills and Sierra.

There's a slight chance a shower could clip the eastern edge of the valley on Monday, but it will stay sunny for the most part.

Foothills are seeing scattered showers, and light snow is falling mainly along the I-80 corridor up at the Donner summit.
Around one to two inches will fall at lake level today in Tahoe, slightly higher amounts at higher elevations.

Valley temps will be cooler today, in the low 60s, and it will be windy.

A wind advisory for the valley begins at 10 a.m. and runs until 7 p.m. Expect winds from the NNW around 15-30 mph, with gusts reaching 40 mph.
