Suspect Barricaded In Building Near Jackson Highway Surrenders

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The latest on a standoff near Jackson Highway:

1:02 a.m. Friday

The suspect gave up and was taken into custody peacefully, Sacramento police say.

No one was hurt in the incident.

He has been identified as 21-year-old Francisco Gonzalez. He's facing charges of violating a restraining order, assault with a deadly weapon, brandishing and resisting arrest.

8:48 a.m.

A person is barricaded inside a building, prompting police to close the nearby Jackson Highway.

The suspect is barricaded on the 8500 block of Jackson Road.

Highway 16 is closed at Florin-Perkins Road as police set up a perimeter.

It's unknown what prompted the first contact around 6 p.m. on Thursday.
