Illegal Large-Scale Indoor Marijuana Grow Raided In South Sacramento

SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) - Detectives say they raided an illegal, large-scale marijuana growing operation in south Sacramento.

According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department, a search warrant was served on Aug. 23 at a home along the 6300 block of Requa Way.

Inside, a large-scale marijuana grow was found on both levels.

Cash, packaging, four pounds of processed marijuana and more than 2,500 pot plants were among the items found during the raid, authorities say.

Deputies also say they found significant code violations and safety hazards inside the home.

Two people who were also found inside the home were taken into custody. Their names have not been released.

The sheriff's department notes that their Central-area Problem Oriented Policing Team deals has to serve these kinds of search warrants about twice a week in south Sacramento.
