East Sacramento specialty butcher shop V. Miller Meats to permanently close
SACRAMENTO – A popular East Sacramento butcher shop known for its high-quality meats will soon be closing for good after a decade in business.
V. Miller Meats has operated at Folsom Boulevard and 48th Street since 2015.
Owner Eric Veldman-Miller says sales have declined over the last year, with consumer spending shifting elsewhere to big-box and grocery stores rather than the independent butcher shop.
"It sucks," Veldman-Miller said. "We've poured everything we've got into this joint."
Their last day of operation is planned for this Saturday.
