Crews Battle Barn Fire In Modesto

MODESTO (CBS13) – Flames destroyed a barn in Modesto early Friday morning.
The scene is near Vernon Avenue and Robertson Road. Crews were called out to the scene a little before 5 a.m. and found that a barn was on fire.
Firefighters say the barn was destroyed in the fire, while about 80 tons of hay has been burned.
Animals nearby the barn were safely moved away and there doesn't appear to any injuries.
Crews were able to contain the fire. However, firefighters say the fire will continue to smolder possibly for the next few days. A crew will continue to monitor the fire until it is completely out.
It is unclear what started the fire.
