A's release 2026 schedule: Las Vegas games on tap, but West Sacramento will get any postseason action

2026 schedule shows A's to play some games in Las Vegas

The Athletics will be paying a regular-season visit to their planned new home of Las Vegas next year.

On Tuesday, the A's released their 2026 regular-season schedule.

While West Sacramento's Sutter Health Park will still be the A's temporary home field through 2028, Las Vegas will be getting a preview of the team next year with a six-game homestand planned at Las Vegas Ballpark in Summerlin, Nev., which is the home of the AAA-Las Vegas Aviators.

Manager Mark Kotsay on Tuesday called the announcement 'exciting.'

"We get an opportunity to take this ball club to our future home to showcase a regular season game, not an exhibition game. I think that's gonna help get the community in Vegas excited, it's gonna help us when we get there in '28," Kotsay told CBS13.

Fans shared mixed reaction to the desert debut for the A's at their home game Tuesday night at Sutter Health Park versus Detroit.

"They're gonna totally change their mind. They're gonna be like, We were just testing the water, we want to stay right here in Sacramento where there's real fans," said Stephanie Lack, an A's fan.

"I'm not happy they're not here. They should be here all the time," said A's season ticket holder Bob Velcheck.

With a differing opinion in the crowd Tuesday night were a couple of combo Vegas Aviators and A's fans, decked out in their Aviators gear at the A's game.

"We think it's great! We can't wait. They're eventually gonna be there permanently, we'll take six games if that's all we can get," said Bill Gresham.

Still, the A's also confirmed in Tuesday's schedule release that any potential postseason games will be played in West Sacramento.

They will also be hosting "Sacramento Saturday" theme nights next season, boasting exclusive giveaways, local flavors and community pride spotlights.

Other notable 2026 matchups include the season opener against the Blue Jays in Toronto on March 26 and the home opener on April 3 against the Houston Astros.

The Dodgers and megastar Shohei Ohtani are also scheduled to visit West Sacramento for the first time in 2026, with the series set for June 29-July 1.

The full schedule can be found on the A's website.
