Tractor Trailer Rollover Accident On I-79 North Causing Traffic Mess

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- An accident involving a tractor trailer is causing traffic back-ups on Interstate 79 northbound near Cranberry this afternoon.

The accident happened around 3:20 p.m. PennDOT says the crash is restricting traffic on the northbound I-79 ramp to the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Exit 77).

Emergency dispatchers say the tractor trailer, which was hauling steel coils, rolled over.

According to emergency dispatchers, the tractor trailer driver was injured. There's no word on his condition.

PennDOT says traffic is getting by the crash scene, but they are asking drivers to use caution in the area.
