LEETSDALE, Pa. (KDKA) – A tractor-trailer was struck by a train on Saturday morning in Leetsdale.

The incident happened around 6:30 a.m. on Avenue C.

According to Norfolk Southern, a train serving a coal customer at Leetsdale Industral Park struck a tractor-trailer that they say was parked too close to the tracks.

Norfolk Southern says a coal car scraped the side of the truck, which was parked parallel to the track, at a slow speed as the train was shoving coal cars into an industrial yard track.

The truck driver was evaluated at the scene for minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital.

The train crew was not injured.
