Duquesne Light: Underground Cable Failure Causes Outages In Squirrel Hill

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- More than 2,000 Duquesne Light customers were without power Tuesday afternoon in the city's Squirrel Hill section.

Officials said many of the outages were along Murray Avenue.

According to Duquesne Light, the outage was caused by a failure in an underground cable.

At the height of the outage, nearly 2,700 customers were without electricity.

But crews were working to quickly restore power and have everyone back up and running by 5 p.m.
