1 Killed, 1 Injured In Marshall-Shadeland Shooting

MARSHALL-SHADELAND (KDKA) -- One person was killed and another was injured in a shooting in Marshall-Shadeland on Saturday morning.

The shooting happened in the 1300-block of Woodland Avenue near Mullins Street around 9:35 a.m.

Police say a 28-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were walking along Woodland Avenue when a man they knew approached them. According to police, "words were exchanged," and then the man fired several shots and fled the scene.

The male victim, later identified as Thomas Watt of Pittsburgh, was shot in the head at least twice. The woman sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. Both were transported to Allegheny General Hospital.

Watt was pronounced dead. The female victim is in stable condition.

Police say 34-year-old Abdul Rasheed has been charged with homicide and aggravated assault in the incident.
