Santa's Grumpy Assistant To Visit Beaver Co. Museum For Celebration

AMBRIDGE (AP) - A grumpy assistant for Santa Claus who keeps the naughty and nice books is going to be accepting visitors at a western Pennsylvania museum.

The Beaver County Times reports Belsnickel has agreed to see children at his seasonal home this weekend in Old Economy Village, located about 16 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, at the museum's annual Christmas celebration.

The 19th-century German folklore figure is said to visit children in the weeks before Christmas.

He uses his stick to knock on their windows and leaves a piece of coal for those who have misbehaved.

Children who visit him at the museum bring ornaments to decorate his tree, shout questions at him and sometimes get to see his naughty list.
