Roller Coaster Weather Pattern Could Mean Snow Showers On Halloween Night

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The weather will have its ups and downs this week and it could end with the region's first chance of snow this fall.

Monday morning started cold with temperatures in the low 30s, which effectively ended the growing season.

Temperatures are expected to significantly upswing Monday afternoon, with a high of 69 and lots of sun. Some areas may even see highs in the low 70s.

Tuesday is expected to be warm again with sunshine and a high of 74 degrees.

A powerful cold front is expected to arrive late in the day producing widespread rain showers, and possibly even a thunderstorm.

That cold front will usher in a change to the cooler weather, with Wednesday and Thursday highs only in the 50s.

Another reinforcing shot of cold air is expected for Halloween.

A shower of two is possible during the day and evening, and it's possible that it gets cold enough Halloween night to change some of those rain showers over to wet snow.

Meteorologist Dennis Bowman says the best chance of that happening wouldn't happen until after 10 p.m., but it's worth keeping an eye on.
