Report: Pirates Discussed Potential McCutchen Trade Last Year
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - In the middle of the worst season of his professional career, the Pirates talked with the Washington Nationals about a potential deal involving Andrew McCUtchen.
Will #Pirates move McCutchen? Per sources, they discussed trading him to #Nationals at non-waiver deadline. Story: https://t.co/w2dzJbcK3G

As Rosenthal reported, the Pirates were talking with the Nationals about a deal involving one of their top prospects, Single-A outfielder Victor Robles, but the Pirates wanted more than that and the trade never materialized.
McCutchen hit just .256 with 24 home runs and 79 RBI.
This isn't the only McCutchen related news as ESPN's Buster Olney reported a shakeup could be coming in the outfield.
Among changes the Pirates are considering: Polanco in left field, Marte in CF, McCutchen in RF

Needless to say, this should be an interesting off-season for the Pirates' MVP.
