20-Year-Old Killed In Motorcycle Accident Along Route 130 In Penn Township

PENN TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - A 20-year-old was killed Sunday evening in a motorcycle accident along Route 130 in Penn Township.

The accident happened Sunday around 9 p.m. The victim has been identified as Tre L. Cunningham of the City of Jeannette. According to the Westmoreland County Coroner, Cunningham was driving a 2004, Honda CBR 1000 motorcycle, and was traveling east State Route 130. A BMW X3 that was traveling east on State Route 130 as well. Cunningham crossed the yellow double line in an attempt to pass the BMW and collided with it. The collision resulted in Cunningham being separated from his motorcycle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The coroner's office says the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and torso due to the collision. Penn Township Police and Pennsylvania State Police investigated. The Mason-Gelder Funeral Home of Jeannette will be in charge of funeral arrangements.
