Penguins: Letang Cleared To Resume Workouts

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang received a bit of good news today.

According to the Penguins' official website, Letang has been cleared to resume workouts after suffering a concussion late in the season.

Letang suffered the injury in a game against the Phoenix Coyotes on March 28.

He was injured after falling awkwardly into the boards following a hit by Shane Doan. Letang had flipped the puck up ice, when Doan finished his check.

Letang attempted to avoid the hit, but landed in a seated position and smacked the back of his head against the boards.

He remained on the ice for several minutes before being helped to the locker room.

Letang will continue to be monitored throughout the summer.
