Mt. Lebanon Native Takes Bronze In Women's 400M Freestyle

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Mt. Lebanon native Leah Smith made her medal round debut in at the Rio Olympics on Sunday.

Smith competed in the women's 400-meter freestyle, finishing in third place with a time of 4:01.92, behind Team USA's Katie Ledecky and Team Britain's Jazz Carlin.

This was the 21-year-old's first time competing at the Olympics.

All of Pittsburgh cheered her on, along with Antonio Brown, who shared a sweet message on Twitter.

Ledecky managed to crush a world record to win gold. The previous record was 3:58.37, and she finished with 3:56.46.
