Man Robs North Side Pizza Shop

NORTH SIDE (KDKA) -- Police are investigating after a man robbed a North Side restaurant early Wednesday morning.

The incident happened before 8 a.m. at Lillen's Restaurant on E. Ohio Street.

Police say a white man entered the restaurant and went behind the counter. When an employee confronted him, the suspect indicated he had a firearm under his sweatshirt, and the employee opened the cash register. The suspect then took an undetermined amount of cash and fled down Middle Street on foot.

The suspect is described as approximately 45 years old, 5-feet-8-inches tall and 140 lbs. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing wire frame glasses and had the hood of his sweatshirt pulled up.

According to police, no one was injured during the robbery.

The investigation is ongoing.
