'Graffiti Busters' Clean Up Downtown Vandalism

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Public Works crews, known as "Graffiti Busters," were removing the unsightly vandalism late Friday. People passing were mostly in agreement about the graffiti.

"I just think it was a bunch of kids who don't have anything better to do," said one woman.

Giant blue peace signs were painted everywhere near Sixth Avenue, Liberty Avenue and along Wood Street. The GNC building, Sally's Beauty Products, even the Benedum and the T-Station were "tagged."

"We can express ourselves in a more peaceful and more, better way then we are right there. Definitely," said one man.

According to an investigation, within a 30 minute time span, a black male spray painted the symbol on at least 25 places throughout Downtown.

Police have released a photo of the suspected vandal, hoping that someone will be able to identify him.
