Former Pitt QB Tom Savage Climbing Draft Boards

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - While having a decent year at Pitt last year, in which he showed he was capable of making just about every throw possible, former Quarterback Tom Savage has seen his draft stock soar past any and all expectations the experts originally had for him.

As Peter King of Sports Illustrated's Monday Morning Quarterback wrote, Savage has become the surprise player leading up to the draft, as draft analyst Gil Brandt has called him "The hottest guy in the draft."

ESPN's draft analyst Todd McShay has Savage going 33rd overall to the Houston Texans in his latest mock draft.

With a number of high-end Quarterbacks available in this year's draft, some believe it is Savage that has the strongest arm of the entire group.

Savage is so in demand by teams right now seeking to meet with him and work him out that his agent had to turn two teams away as the prospect simply doesn't have the time to meet with everyone that wants to see him.

Last year at Pitt, Savage led the Panthers to a 7-6 record throwing for 2,958 yards completing 238 of 389 attempts and racking up 21 touchdowns.
