Pittsburgh Citizen Police Review Board Investigating How Police Officers Handled Protesters In East Liberty

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Pittsburgh Citizen Police Review Board is investigating how Pittsburgh police officers handled protesters in East Liberty.

Councilwoman Deb Gross says she's heard from constituents that police used physical and chemical weapons against peaceful protestors along Centre Avenue.

City police say they were attacked with bottles, bricks and fired benign smoke bombs.

Protesters say it was tear gas, and they were fired upon by rubber bullets.

The review board wants to hear from you if you witnessed or were subjected to police violence.
