Beaver County Courthouse Evacuated Due To Gag Gift

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The Beaver County Courthouse was evacuated Wednesday morning due to a "suspicious package."

That package turned out to be a gag gift sent to the Sheriff Tony Guy. It was a paperweight in the shape of a grenade that read, "Complaints? Take a number." The number was written on the pull pin of the fake explosive.

Of course, when the gag gift went through a metal detector, people were concerned. The building was emptied and the bomb squad was called.

Officers spoke with the person who sent Sheriff Guy the fake grenade, and that person was reportedly extremely apologetic.

The Beaver County District attorney said a press conference will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. to provide more information about the incident.
