Alligator Found Near Allegheny River In Lawrenceville

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Another alligator has been found in Pittsburgh.

According to the Pittsburgh Humane Animal Rescue, "Gus" was found near the Allegheny River in Lawrenceville.

He is a 4-foot-long gator who will be at the facility for a few days before he can be moved to another facility that can care for him.

"He does seem pretty small so it's definitely possible he as someone's pet who either escaped or was purposely let loose," said Zac Seymour, manager of Human-Animal Rescue. "We don't know yet."

In July, an alligator was found in a Giant Eagle parking lot in Shaler Township.

There were also alligator sightings in Carrick and South Side earlier this year.
