AG Kane Issues Warning About Orlando Donation Scams

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane has issued a warning for people to be on the lookout for potential scams following the mass shooting in Orlando.

She is urging people to be sure they are donating to reputable charities.

"Many Pennsylvanians will want to offer financial support to the people who have been affected by this tragic loss of life," Kane said in a statement. "It is important for those who give to take the proper precautions to ensure they are donating to reputable organizations."

If you want to help the victims of the Orlando shooting, but are not sure if a charity is legitimate, you can check to see if it is registered with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
