Soggy Sunday showers slowly clear out of Philadelphia area ahead of mostly sunny work week
Sunday pretty much picks up where Saturday left off with widespread showers across the area, especially from the I-95 corridor, across South Jersey and down the shore. This broad band of showers will slowly push to the southeast through the day, which will allow for drier weather to take over from west to east throughout the day.
By lunchtime, the Lehigh Valley will be back to sunshine, with the rain starting to taper off in Philadelphia and most of the Delaware Valley.
Skies will then gradually clear with increasing sunshine for most of the area, including South Jersey, through the afternoon as temperatures make their way through the low to mid-70s.
The shore could still have a few isolated showers around through dinner time, but skies will eventually clear out going into Sunday night as temperatures across the region drop into the 50s to upper 40s.
A cooler-than-normal stretch of weather will stick around for the first half of the week, with high temperatures peaking in the mid-70s and low temperatures settling in the low-middle 50s through Wednesday.
By Wednesday, a low-pressure system will parallel the coast and bring a small chance for a few stray showers, but mainly right along the shore.
Otherwise, conditions look to remain dry for the entire week with high temperatures warming back to near normal in the low 80s by Thursday and Friday.
