VP Biden Heading To Philadelphia's Fourth Of July Festivities

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden plans to visit Philadelphia for the Fourth of July.

A statement released Monday by Biden's office says he'll participate in the "Celebration of Freedom" ceremony at Independence Hall.

The annual event includes music, speeches and a reading of excerpts from the Declaration of Independence.

Organizers say Friday's ceremony will also recognize the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act and the 60th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision ending school segregation.

No other details of Biden's trip were immediately available.
