The Reason Why Andrew Bynum Was Kicked Off The Cavs

By Spike Eskin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The bowling, the dancing, the hair, the press conferences and timelines. Just about everything we remember here in Philadelphia about Andrew Bynum has nothing to do with actual basketball on an actual basketball court.

The Sixers let Bynum walk, and the Cleveland Cavaliers signed him to a low-risk contract, that allowed them to cut him (or trade him and then someone else cut him) in January. The Cavs traded Bynum to the Bulls (who cut him), amidst rumors as to why Bynum had been suspended indefinitely from the team.

None of the rumors were as funny as what appears to be the actual reason.

"Bynum never made it to the early January guarantee date for his full $12.5 million salary in 2013-14, and self-destructed," Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports writes. "He stopped trying on the floor, and became a disruptive presence in practices. Before Bynum was thrown out of his final practice and suspended, he was shooting the ball every time he touched it in a practice scrimmage, sources said – from whatever remote part of the court he had caught the ball."

I harbor very little ill-will toward Bynum because I'm happy with the new management of the Sixers, and the new direction of the franchise. It is, as they say, what it is.

This reason is just about the most Andrew Bynum reason possible for getting suspended.

How much would I pay for video of this? I would pay at least $100. There's gotta be someone with a cell phone video.

Bynum was signed recently by the Indiana Pacers for the remainder of the season.
