Teachers Learn Latest Classroom Technology At Conference In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Nearly 20,000 teachers are in Philadelphia for the annual International Society for Technology in Education conference.
It's an informational expo where educators learn how to make use of technology in the classroom.
Classrooms, like many other things, have changed drastically over the last 20 years.
CEO Brian Lewis said the goal of ISTE is to keep educators on top of the latest trends in technology in order for them to connect with students and give them tools to succeed.
"It becomes a more robust learning experience for them." Said Lewis. "It becomes less about teaching them to remember certain things and more about empowering to build the skills necessary life-long for inquiry and problem solving."
Lewis says there will be more than 1,000 sessions at the four-day conference.
"The best thing about the ISTE community is they are passionate, dedicated educators who are committed to supporting one another and sharing what they learned in the previous year."
The conference runs through Wednesday.
