All-Clear Given At The College Of New Jersey After Gas Leak

EWING, N.J. (CBS) -- The all-clear has been given after a gas leak on the campus of a college in New Jersey forced evacuations Monday morning.

The incident happened at The College of New Jersey in Ewing, Mercer County.

According to a spokesperson for TCNJ, a contractor working at the Campus Town construction site hit a gas main, necessitating the evacuation of several campus buildings.

The impacted buildings were:

Armstrong Hall (houses the School of Engineering), Art & Interactive Multimedia (houses arts faculty and classrooms), Bliss Hall (houses faculty offices and classrooms), Business Building (houses the School of Buisiness), Hausdoerffer Hall (houses 200 students), Paul Loser Hall (houses the School of Nursing, Health & Exercise Science and College admissions), Music Building (houses Music faculty and classrooms) and Phelps Halls (houses 200 students).

At about 1:30 p.m., the all-clear was given and all buildings and parking lots reopened. Classes resumed at 2 p.m.

There were no reports of any injuries.
