Suspect Caught On Tape Robbing Dunkin' Donuts In Center City

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are investigating after they say a man with a handgun robbed a Dunkin' Donuts in the Graduate Hospital section of the city.

Police say around 7:45 p.m. on January 26, the suspect entered the store and lingered around the counter for about fifteen minutes until all of the customers left.

Once he was alone with the employee, authorities say he pretended to purchase a coffee. After placing his order, he then showed the worker a handgun and demanded all of the money from the register.

The employee gave the suspect an undetermined amount of money and the suspect put in a paper bag and fled the scene, heading east on Washington Avenue towards 15th Street.

Police described the suspect as a black male, 5'4"-5'6", with a thin build. He was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, tan boots, light facial hair, and was armed with a handgun.
