Study Shows Phillies Fans Are Among The Worst In Grammar Usage

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Phillies fans are clinging to any victory they can get these days and a new study shows they probably wouldn't win a spelling bee against the fans of other teams.
Looks like we'll need another idea.
Grammarly, the company that did a study to find out what NFL fans are the best grammatically, has now done the same study with MLB teams.
The study worked out well for the Eagles. According to Grammarly's research, Eagles fans were the third best when it came to grammar usage.
The Phillies were ranked as the second worst MLB fan base in that regard.
The study uses fan comments on the team websites that meet a certain length requirement and then analyze them to see how many grammatical errors pop up for every 100 words.
Phillies fans averaged 13.5 mistakes for every 100 words. To compare, Eagles fans averaged just 5.2 mistakes.
Phillies faithful can at least take some comfort in beating out Mets fans who finished as the worst fan base with an average of 13.9 mistakes.
The best fan group in baseball was that of the Cleveland Indians who averaged just 3.6 mistakes which was the lowest total between baseball and football.
