Study Shows Eagles Fans Are Among The Best Grammatically

By Ray Boyd

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A recent study confirmed what we all already knew. If you're an Eagles fan, you're smart.

The study was done by Grammarly, an automated proofreader company. Grammarly ranked each NFL fan base on its grammar, punctuation and spelling. The company used fan comments on each team website that was at least 50 words long.

The company was then able to come up with the number of errors per 100 words for each fan base.

According to the study, the Eagles fan base ranked 30 out of 32 teams with only 5.2 mistakes per 100 words.

The best fan base was that of the Lions at 4.2 mistakes per 100 words followed by the Packers fans who averaged 5.1 mistakes per 100 words.

While Eagles fans celebrate the fact that they are among the league's most grammatically sound fans, they can also take pleasure in the knowing that the fans of the rival Redskins ranked as the worst fan base when it comes to grammar.

Redskins fans averaged 16.5 mistakes per 100 words.
