Study Says Americans Sleep More Than They Work

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Contrary to popular belief, Americans may actually be getting enough sleep. A new study finds that Americans are asleep more hours than they're at work.

According to the Labor Department's Annual Time Use Survey, Americans slept an average of eight hours, 50 minutes per day last year, which is 13 minutes more than what Americans reported 10 years ago.

On the flip side, Americans who had full-time jobs reported they were at work five minutes longer than they were asleep.
