SEPTA Transit Police Thwart Potential Suicide Attempt
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - It appears SEPTA employees may have saved someone's life.
SEPTA's chief of transit police Thomas Nestel III tweeted out Sunday that a "despondent person" told a SEPTA cashier she planned to kill herself before walking away.
Using cameras, Nestel says transit police then located the woman to ensure she gets help.

He tells CBS Philly this happened at the Walnut Locust station.
SEPTA began posting suicide prevention hotline signs at all rail stations last year. That number is 1-800-273-8255.
