Robbery Suspect Critically Injured In Police-Involved Shooting in Delco

MILLBOURNE, Pa. (CBS) – A robbery suspect is in the hospital after a shootout with police Thursday night in Millbourne, Delaware County.

This happened around 7 p.m. at 64th and Market Streets.

Police say a man in his 20's walked into a grocery store and announced a robbery. He pulled a gun on the store owner, emptied the cash register then left.

Shortly after, the suspect was stopped by police while walking to 63rd Street station, which is when he pulled a gun on Millbourne officers, who then fired at the suspect. The suspect returned fire.

The suspect then threw his gun in the woods and was arrested shortly after the shootout. He had a gunshot wound when he was apprehended. The suspect was then taken to the Penn Presbyterian Hospital where he is in critical condition.

The two officers involved were not injured.

County police are now taking over the investigation.
