Man Ambushed, Shot To Death Outside Fairmount Bar, Police say

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Philadelphia police are investigating what they believe was an ambush attack that left a man dead after being shot multiple times in the Fairmount section of the city.
Officers rushed to the 1700 block of Fairmount Avenue just after 12 a.m Saturday.
They found a 34-year-old man shot outside his car. The man suffered multiple gunshot wounds throughout his upper body.

At least 19 bullets were aimed that the man, according to officials.
Police rushed him to Hahnemann University Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police initially thought the shooting stemmed from an argument inside the bar here, but after reviewing surveillance video it appears there was no dispute inside.
Now officials say this could have been an ambush attack from someone outside.
Authorities have no description on the shooter but they are looking for a vehicle the shooter may have fled in.
"It appears to be a silver chevy with a partial take of 611 and it sped off west on Fairmount," said Police Captain George Fuchs.
