Cops: 4-Year-Old Abducted In North Philly Found Safe; Suspect In Custody

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A young Philadelphia boy is back with his mother and his alleged abductor is in custody, police said.

The ordeal began at about 2:50 a.m. Friday in the 2800 block of Hope Street in the city's Fairhill section.

According to investigators, Philadelphia police officers responded to the location for the report of an abduction.

Alexis Pagan told police that her four-year-old son, Yandel Ernesto Rosario, was abducted by 35-year-old Carlos Manuel Lebron Jr.

Pagan told police that Lebron Jr. is her ex-boyfriend. The suspect, who police say was staying at the woman's home, is not the child's natural father.

Pagan told police the suspect did not have permission to take the child.

Shortly after 10 a.m., Philadelphia police announced that the boy was found safe and Lebron Jr. was in police custody.

Investigators said the young boy and the suspect were located only a few blocks from the boy's home.

It was not immediately known why the suspect abducted the four-year-old.

"What man takes a child that's not yours? That's not no man, that's being sick … no matter what you're going through, you have no right to take somebody's kid, that's not yours," Pagan told Eyewitness News.

Lebron Jr. is being questioned by police. So far, no charges have been filed.
