Phillies Option David Buchanan To Lehigh Valley, Call-Up Cesar Jimenez

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Phillies announced on Wednesday that they were optioning RHP David Buchanan to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The move comes the day after a rough start for Buchanan.

On Tuesday night, the Phillies lost to the Diamondbacks 13-1. Buchanan had a night to forget as he gave up 11 earned runs in just 1 2/3 innings.

Buchanan allowed the first six Arizona hitters to reach base to open the second inning. The inning included five singles, three doubles, two home runs, one grand slam and two walks.

He only earned two outs in that inning.

The Phillies also called-up Cesar Jimenez from Lehigh Valley. Jimenez is 3-5 with Lehigh Valley on the year to go along with a 3.61 ERA through 57.1 innings pitched.
